I am so excited to continue to learn and grow with my Willett family this year. I have been teaching for 11 years and I am very lucky that all 11 of those years have been spent right here teaching the 4th grade at Willett School. This really is my second home!
I was born and raised in a little town not too far from here called Stoughton. I have two big brothers, Eric and Scott. Not only am I the youngest, but I am the only girl. (Lucky me!) Growing up, I loved to play sports, probably because I always wanted to do what my big brothers did. (I wanted to be like them so much that I once begged my mom to let me get a "spiked" haircut and she let me do it. I have pictures to prove it!) I played softball, basketball, tennis and later on, field hockey. After graduating from Stoughton High School, I attended UMASS Amherst where I studied English and Elementary Education. I loved children and teaching so much that I stayed for an extra year and earned my Master's Degree in Elementary Education. After moving back home, I had the opportunity to become part of the Willett family and I have been here ever since.
I am married to a pretty terrific guy. Mr. Wilds, a firefighter/paramedic. We have an 8 and a half year old Golden Retriever named Scout. Even though he is an older dude, he is goofy and silly and never fails to make us laugh, especially when he takes his little "brother's" teddy bear. He enjoys dressing up in costumes for different occasions (well, maybe he doesn't like it but, I do!) You will hear lots of stories about him this year. I have an amazing little boy named Tanner who is 1 and a half. He is very active and keeps me on my toes! He brings so much joy to our lives!
When I am not at school, I can be found spending time with my family. I also enjoy playing sports of all kinds, field hockey is my favorite. During the winter, I LOVE to go snowboarding. I taught myself a few years ago and I can't wait to ride some new trails this winter.
I look forward to learning more about each and every one of you!
