We have a lot of exciting things happening in the 4th grade!
Yesterday we had our first Library visit, yay! We will visit Mrs. Sullivan in the Library every Tuesday morning from 10:00-10:20. This is a perfect opportunity for students to select "just right books to enjoy at home or at school during independent reading. We cant wait for Accelerated Reader to begin! Goals will be assigned relatively soon once our computer programs are running compatibly. I am extremely hopeful that all 001 students will reach their goals!
Spelling lists were sent home yesterday with your fourth grader. There are suggested activities on the side of the sheet to help with practice. We will also be utilizing these lists during ELA while rotating through centers.
Students should be bringing home flash cards of the states and capitals of the Northeast Region. We are focusing on Climate, Products and Natural Resources, Landforms and Landmarks in class through various readings. Students have also completed several map activites focusing on this region. There will be a Northeast region quiz next Tuesday.
Grade 4 Willett students have been provided with an amazing opportunity to go to Gillette Stadium on October 6th to participate in a health and wellness movement. We will have the chance to step on to the field with some of the New England Revolution players and participate in activities to get us moving and learn how important it is for our bodies to eat healthy foods. Permission slips have been sent home and it would be fabulous if they could be returned ASAP. There is a fee of $5.00. We are asking that this fee is brought to school by the end of the month. No checks, please.
