Friday Wrap-Up
It has been a very busy short week! Students have been sent home with their Fraction unit tests. If you have any questions regarding these, let me know and I'll be glad to help.
We have finished up with our ELA unit, "Traveling Across America". The children have been working diligently to complete research in class and creating an informative PowerPoint presentation with Mr. Steinberg in the computer lab. I can't wait to see how they come out! Our next unit focuses on the skills and requirements to perform certain jobs. We will continue to use reciprocal groups to build comprehension. With each story in the unit, students will complete bookmark and open response jobs as well as various literacy centers and small group instruction. The fourth grade team is hoping to have a job fair at the end of the unit where students can show off all that they have learned.
Willett is taking part in a food drive to help local families in need. Student council representatives have spoken to the classrooms to boost participation and awareness. We are looking for any non perishable food items and will be collecting until December 5, 2014.
Has your 4th grader shared their AR goals with you? Be on the lookout for an update stapled into your child's planner. Also, be sure to log into Home Connect found on the Willett website to see up to date information.
Have a wonderful weekend...bundle up, I hear it's going to be cold out there!
